Full bio
A record label, a DJ duo, a YouTube channel, a former club night — and a fictional island whose inhabitants have rather eccentric party rituals. If you want to know what those rituals look like, you’ll have to dock at Sentinel Island.
You’ll hear Disco and House but also Caribbean, African and Asian-inspired dance music, straight from Sentinel’s dark jungles. DJs like Barbara Boeing and San Soda are regular visitors too.
The Sentinel Island Disco YouTube channel, well known in the digging scene, unearths rare gems from around the globe. The many Sentinel Island and Bongo Barns remixes have done the rounds on the club and festival circuit, with support from Palms Trax, Barbara Boeing, Lipelis, Hunee, Antal and many more.
As a not-for-profit re-issue label Sentinel Island Disco licenses, remasters and presses those records back onto vinyl — from Ivorian reggae and Bronx gospel house to Rotterdam chutney disco and a whole compilation of soca.
Behind the decks, Coco and Bongo Barns mix those rare finds into disco and house sets, which have taken them from small club nights to festival stages like Down The Rabbit Hole, Lowlands and DGTL. Together with illustrator and VJ Mirjam, the visual force behind the project, they hosted club nights at Lovelee in Amsterdam where all senses were stimulated.

Technical rider
Decks & mixer
- 1 Pioneer mixer, in order of preference: DJM-V10, DJM-900NXS2 or DJM-750MK2. Please get in touch if none of these are available.
- 3 or 4 Pioneer CDJ-3000 or CDJ-2000NXS2, linked by Ethernet, with working USB ports. Not on stands, please.
- One spare CDJ-2000NXS2 as back-up.
- We bring an external FX unit (Bozure desktop isolator), connected through the mixer’s send/return. This only works with the mixers above: the standard DJM-900 Nexus does not work.
Booth & sound
- 2 full-range monitor speakers, left and right at head height, controlled from the mixer (mid-high monitors alone won’t do).
- A stable table or riser, 2.5–3 m wide, 0.6–1 m deep, 0.95–1 m high, with at least 2 free power sockets and enough light to work by.
- A PA giving at least 90 dBA without distortion in the middle of the dancefloor; a 4-way system for clubs and indoor venues.
- A sound engineer who knows the system, close by during the set.
We bring our own USB sticks, FX unit, recorder and headphones.
